M6 World Championship New Format Revealed The M6 World Championship has announced the new format for the tournament, along with a number of key dates for the biggest and most important tournament in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), which this time is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The sixth edition of the M World Championship series returns to us again under the very strong slogan of “Greater than Ever”, as the tournament aims to present the largest version in the history of the series, with an increase in the value of the financial prizes, with new modifications to the tournament system. The M6 Championship begins with the Wild Card stage from November 21 to 24, 2024, and aims to give emerging regions more opportunities to showcase their gaming skills. The Wild Card Stage will see eight teams compete, split into two groups that will compete in a single round robin format (one round) with best-of-three (BO3) matches. Top Video Game Consoles The top team from each group will advance to the second stage of the Wild Card Stage, while the other six teams will be eliminated. The top two teams from each group will play a best-of-five (BO5) match, with the winner advancing to the main stage of the M6 World Championship. The Wild Card Stage matches will be held from November 21 to 23 at 14:00 (GMT+8), while the second stage will begin on November 24 at 17:00 (GMT+8). New Tournament Format “Swiss System” For the first time in M Series history, the Main Stage will be a Swiss System, which requires a group draw after each round. Starting November 28, 2024, the Swiss Stage will see 16 teams compete across five stages. Eight teams with three wins will advance to the knockout stage, while eight teams with three losses will be eliminated. To learn more about the Swiss Stage, watch the video below. The knockout stage will be a double-elimination stage. The first round will be a best-of-three (BO3) match on December 7, 2024. The second round will be a best-of-five (BO5) match from December 8 to 14, 2024. The Grand Finals will be a best-of-seven (BO7) match on December 15, 2024, at 17:00 (GMT+8). The M6 World Championship aims to showcase the best professional level of MLBB. This year, the World Championship will feature 16 international teams competing for the biggest share of the $1 million prize money. The first edition of the M1 World Championship was held in 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and since then the M Series has become one of the most popular esports events in the world, with the M5 World Championship attracting around 5.06 million viewers at its peak, according to Esports Charts.
